HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST... as shouted 2011ish years ago

For a brief moment almost a whole city believed that He was the promised one that had been predicted hundreds of years before. They shouted "“Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven! Hosanna!

Then less than a week later the crowd shouted, "crucify Him". How quickly they forgot His love, His miracles, His character, who He really is...

... so like me sometimes. i am in awe of HIM, recognizing HIM for who HE is and then I forget who He really is, what He really did, my pride takes over.. and i forget. Oh LORD, help me never to forget!

Here are our little branches and our little coats though we do not have Jesus on earth to sit on a donkey. He is in our hearts and we do this to remember... He is KING! :)

INTERESTING HISTORICAL INSIGHTS
Here is a picture my hubby took last week of the eastern gate that Jesus most likely entered on the donkey that day. Now the original gate is somewhere under this one.... remember 2000 years ago. This one was built around 520 AD... the oldest of all the gates through Jerusalem. This is the gate that the Bible predicts that Jesus will come back through when He returns.

The Eastern gate was walled up by it's Muslim conquerors (the Ottoman Turks) in 1530 A.D. Notice also the cemetery that has been planted in front of it. Many believe this was done to prevent the entrance of the Jewish Messiah through that gate as was foretold by known Old Testament prophecies. Jewish traditions say a holy man cannot walk over the dead.

However, Ezekiel prophesied the shutting of this gate around 600 B.C. -- that it would be shut "because the LORD (Jehovah or Yahweh), the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut."

You can still purchase a burial plots today to try to stop the return of Jesus for around...$50,000+.

hmmmm ... stop the plan of GOD with a dead body... hmmmm... interesting..
